Statement from AIC on facility fire

“A fire occurred today at the Ag Innovation Campus. First and foremost, all plant employees evacuated the building safely and no one was injured. The fire started in a bean conditioning system, which is the first step to preparing crops for crushing and is a typical process used in processing. Thanks to the safety protocols in place, the fire was contained to one area of the plant. A full assessment of the situation has begun, and we will quickly assess both the status of the equipment impacted and the many safety procedures and equipment in place, which today effectively contained this fire to a small event with no injuries or major harm to the facility.
We’re thankful to the Crookston Fire Department and first responders for the quick response to assure the safety of our employees and the community. After assessing the damage, AIC will work quickly to get back up and running in a timely fashion.”
