AIC Vice Chair
Gene Stoel, who farmers in Murray County and is past chairman of the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council (MSR&PC), represents District 7. After working at a grain elevator, Stoel returned to the farm upon his father’s retirement. Today, he and his wife Kathy raise corn and soybeans in Lake Wilson, Minnesota, and run a crop insurance and marketing consulting business. Stoel also sits on the United Soybean Board. To Stoel, farmers use resources as wisely as possible, however, he recognizes that the changing needs and concerns of consumers play a large role in how farmers run their businesses.
